Acoustic Ceiling installation options

Acoustic ceiling installation with T-clip

Equipment List:
A -2 x aircraft cable 16ft
B- 2 x aircraft cable caps
C- 2 x Suspension support
D- 1 x Power Cord
E - 1 x cable bushing
F - 2 x j-Box canopies
G - 2 x T-clips with extra security
H - 2 x T-clips
I - 2 x holder bolts Large
J - 2 x holder bolts Standard

Step 1 - Getting ready

Prior to installation, make sure nothing is missing from the list above; the electrical power is off, and necessary tools are handy.

Step 2 - Preparing connections

Find the connector compartment on one side of the fixture. Unscrew the lid and detach it.

Step 3 - Connecting

Connect male and female connectors and fit them into the compartment. Reattach the lid again and screw it closed.

Step 4(a) - Preparing standard T clip

Screw a holder bolt on to the clip.

Step 4(b) - Preparing secured T clip

Piece together the T Clips, and insert a holder bolt into each of them.

Step 5 - Preparing Suspension

Attach the two aircraft cables to the holder bolts on each side of the fixture. Push the aircraft cable into the gripper to adjust the desirable length, ensuring that the lighting fixture is level.

Step 6 - Taking Measurements

Measure the length between the mounting brackets. This will give you the measurements for the placements of the T-clips.

Step 7 - Attaching the T clips

Attach the clips to the ceiling’s marked spots with the correct measurements from step 6.

Step 8 - Connecting it all together

Insert the cable bushing into the canopy - run the cable through the canopy, into the ceiling, and run it to the nearest J-box.

Step 9 - Securing the Canopy

Cover T clip with canopy, so T clip bolt sticks out. Attach the aircraft cable cap to the T clip bolt.

Step 10 - Adjusting the height and level

Push the aircraft cable into the gripper on the mounting bracket to adjust the desirable length, making sure the lighting fixture is level.

Step 11 - Complete installation

When the desired height of the fixture is secured, cut the excess aircraft cable.

Acoustic ceiling installation with T-support

Equipment List:
A -2 x aircraft cable 16ft
B- 2 x Aircraft cable cap
C- 2 x Suspension support
D- 1 x Power Cord
E - 1 x cable bushing
F - 2 x j-Box canopies
G - 2 x T-Support

Step 1 - Getting ready

Prior to installation, make sure nothing is missing from the list above; the electrical power is off, and necessary tools are handy.

Step 2 - Preparing connections

Find the connector compartment on one side of the fixture. Unscrew the lid and detach it.

Step 3 - Connecting

Connect male and female connectors and fit them into the compartment. Reattach the lid again and screw it closed.

Step 4 - Preparing T Support

Screw a holder bolt on to the bracket

Step 5 - Preparing Suspension

Attach the two aircraft cables to the holder bolts on each side of the fixture. Push the aircraft cable into the gripper to adjust the desirable length, ensuring that the lighting fixture is level.

Step 6 - Taking Measurements

Measure the length between the mounting brackets. This will give you the measurements for the placements of the T-support and the canopies.

Step 7 - Mark the ceiling

Determine the desired location for the fixture under the drop ceiling in between the grids using the measurements from step 6.

Step 8 - Placing the t-support

Attach the clips to the ceiling’s marked spots with the correct measurements from step 6.

Step 9 - Placing the tile

Bring the tile to the t-support and mark the spot for the hanger bolt. Pierce through the tile at the marked spot. Make sure it's wide enough for the hanger bolt to come through. Replace the ceiling tile.

Step 10 - Connecting it all together

Insert the cable bushing into the canopy - run the cable through the canopy, into the ceiling, and run it to the nearest J-box.

Step 11 - Securing the Canopy

Cover T clip with canopy, so T clip bolt sticks out. Attach the aircraft cable cap to the T clip bolt.

Step 12 - Adjusting the height and level

Push the aircraft cable into the gripper on the mounting bracket to adjust the desirable length, making sure the lighting fixture is level.

Step 13 - Complete installation

When the desired height of the fixture is secured, cut the excess aircraft cable.

Step 4 - Preparing the J-box power feed canopy side

Insert the cable retainer onto the hanger bolt and screw it through the mounting plate. Fit the cable bushing on the power feed canopy plate for the fixture's cable.

Step 5 - Preparing Suspension

Attach the two aircraft cables to the holder bolts on each side of the fixture. Push the aircraft cable into the gripper to adjust the desirable length, ensuring that the lighting fixture is level.

Step 6 - Taking measurements

Measure and mark the desired area you want to mount the fixture, then measure the height from the fixture to the ceiling. The aircraft and power feed cables are 16 ft long and the fixture can be placed within that distance.

Step 7 - Securing the cable

Pull the feeding cable through the cable bushing and the mounting plate. Secure at least 6 inches of the line on the mounting plate in the cable retainer using two small screws.

Step 8 - Wiring

Connect the feeding cable wires according to the preinstalled electrical wires inside the J-box.

Step 9 - Secure mounting plate

Fasten the mounting plate to the J-box with provided screws.

Step 10 - placing the canopy

Insert the canopy cover plate through the hanger bolt and securely place it on the J-box.
